Key activities
Assoc Prof Suzie Attiwill is the program director of Interior Design, RMIT School of Architecture and Design. From 1999 to 2008, she coordinated the History and Theory stream of the program. Suzie has presented design studios to 2nd and 3rd year students, supervised final year undergraduates and postgraduates, as well teaching in specialization areas such as exhibition.
Suzie is recognized as an international peer in the field of interior design, acting as referee for a number of international journals; as a judge for awards including the Interior Design Excellence Awards (2009), the State of Design Premier Design Awards (2008), international peer reviewer for the 2008 Interiors World Forum, Premier’s Design Leadership Award (2006), member of the Victorian Design Advisory Council, invited speaker and examiner. She is a founding member of the Urban Interior research group.

Industry experience
Suzie has an independent practice which involves the design of exhibitions, curating, writing and working on a range of interdisciplinary projects in Australia and overseas. From 1996 to 1999, she was the inaugural Artistic Director of Craft Victoria. She is the current chair of IDEA (Interior Design/Interior Architecture Educators Association) and from 2007-2009, chair of West Space Inc. (one of Australia’s most prolific artist run spaces).
