RMIT College of Business is pleased to invite you to the second Asia@RMIT seminar for 2010.

The monthly seminar series aims to bring together students and staff from various disciplines University wide, to discuss research being undertaken with a focus on Asia.

‘Urbanisation Challenges in Vietnam’

Speakers: Dr Iftekhar Ahmed, Research Fellow, Climate Change Adaptation Programme (CCAP), Global Cities Research Institute, RMIT University

This presentation will discuss key aspects of urban development in the two main cities in Vietnam: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It aims to highlight the challenges facing rapid urban growth in the context of climate change and how communities, particularly the urban poor, are becoming increasingly vulnerable and marginalised. Dr Ahemd explores possible ways to move forward towards a sustainable future through partnerships between a range of stakeholders.
