This course critically examines the emerging canon of architectural design within the Asian region. This course explores the diverse and ancient ethnic and religious histories and influences that have shaped the region, works through the period of western colonization, the postcolonial and nationalist engagement with modernism and industrialization, the complex contemporary conditions created by the rapid development of Asian urbanism, and the emerging internationalization of practice in the context of globalization

This event included an Alumni party and the opening of the exhibition "Postcards Home 06" and lectures from RMIT Architecture Adjunct Professor Kerstin Thompson and RMIT Innovation Professor Mark Burry, the Director of the Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory (SIAL).
