Electrotechnology

The Electrotechnology industry is diverse, encompassing electrical engineering; industrial measurement and control; electrical appliances servicing; electronic and radio communication equipment; and wiring installation.

RMIT’s programs are based on the nationally accredited Electrotechnology Training Package.

Certificate IV in Instrumentation and Control graduates will have the skills to install, set up, test, fault-find, repair, maintain and commission systems and devices for the measurement and control of physical and chemical processes.

Advanced Diploma of Electrical Technology graduates may gain para-professional level employment in a wide range of industries that involve development, design, installation, operations and maintenance of engineering equipment, plant or instrumentation and control systems.

Advanced Diploma of Electronics and Communications Enginering graduates may gain para-professional level employment in a wide range of industries that involve manufacturing, telecommunications, radio communications, electronics equipment and services, to name a few.

Associate Degrees are relatively new qualifications in Australia. The degrees are broad-based and allow you to develop employment-related skills relevant to your discipline. Graduates may move into a wide range of positions in Electrical or Electronics engineering and gain pathways into Electrical, Electronic and Communications engineering degrees.
