Statute 4.3 – The University services
In this Statute and any Regulations made hereunder unless the contrary intention appears:
(a) “the University Services” means those services and areas including information technology and services physical, virtual or otherwise, under the control of the University;
(b) “the Director” means the University Officer or any person acting as such and responsible for the overall supervision and conduct of such service(s).
2(a). No person will use the services except in accordance with this Statute and any Regulations and Rules made hereunder;
(b) Subject to this Statute and any Regulations and Rules made hereunder the Director of the service area may direct any person to leave any of the service areas and may refuse any person access to the service.
3(a). The Council may make Regulations with respect to prescribing or providing for any matter or thing for which it is necessary or expedient to prescribe or provide for the purposes of this Statute;
(b) The Council may, after seeking the recommendation of the Director of the service area, make Rules governing the Service(s). The Council may by resolution delegate to the Director of the service area the power to make Rules governing the service area
(c) The Rules of the service area in force at the date of enactment of this Statute will remain in force until such time as the Council, after seeking the recommendation of the Director of the service area, repeals or amends the Rules.
4. Any student or staff who contravenes this Statute or any of the Regulations and Rules made hereunder will be deemed to have committed an act of misconduct under Statute 6.1 - Discipline.
5. Regulations made pursuant to this Statute will come into effect when displayed on the university’s Statutes and Regulations Website.
