How much you’ll pay will depend on whether you’re offered a Commonwealth supported place or a full-fee paying place.

Commonwealth supported places

A Commonwealth supported places (CSP) is a university place where the tuition fee is paid by you and the Commonwealth Government. Your share of the fee is set by the government and determined by your discipline area.

Only students who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or holders of an Australian Permanent Resident Visa are eligible for a Commonwealth supported place.

Notes:

From 1 January 2013, all students enrolled in accounting, administration, economics and commerce units can be charged the Band 3 rate and all students enrolled in mathematics, statistics and science units of study can be charged the Band 2 rate.

For pre-2010 students, the maximum annual student contribution amount that may be charged for Education and Nursing units is $4,696.

From 1 January 2010, the maximum annual student contribution amount for commencing CSP students undertaking Education and Nursing units of study has been increased from the ‘national priority rate’ to the Band 1 rate.

Other fees

In addition to the student contribution/tuition fees and the student services and amenities fee (SSAF), there may be other expenses associated with your program.

Income tax deductions

Students may be eligible to apply for income tax deductions for education expenses linked to their employment. See the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) website for more information.

Full-fee paying places

A small number of full-fee paying places are available based upon individual circumstances.
