Seminar Quantitative Research 3

Multivariate Analysis - Measurement Theory, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Reliability Tests.

This seminar will introduce quantitative research methods associated with the contemporary measurement theory which will quickly set the scene illustrating the complexity and interconnection between scale, error, and construct. Measurement concepts will be discussed including dimensionality, reliability, and validity. The relations between measurement theory, hypothesis formulation, and a measurement model will be explained. Use of measurement analysis such as exploratory factor analysis, parallel analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency, and construct reliability will be demonstrated.

This series of seminars is designed to meet the training requirements of Research Methods for PhD, Masters by Research, and Honours students and to facilitate additional training for existing HDRs and for ECRs who want more or additional training.
