RMIT SEEDS: The Power of Unreasonable People

Dr Pamela Hartigan is a world leader on social enterprise and how highly unconventional entrepreneurs are solving some of the world’s most pressing economic, social, and environmental problems. Presenting the inaugural SEEDS annual lecture, Pamela will discuss how social enterprises can create communities, cities and countries as hubs for change.

Drawing on her bestselling book The Power of Unreasonable People: How Entrepreneurs Create Markets that Change the World, Pamela will provide a first-hand insight into the mindsets and strategies of this new breed of entrepreneur.

The Speaker

Dr Pamela Hartigan is Director of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Said Business School, the University of Oxford. From 2001 to 2008 Pamela was the Managing Director of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship – a Swiss-based organisation focused on advancing the practice of social entrepreneurship globally, building and supporting its community of practitioners whose efforts have achieved transformational social change – and a sister organisation of the World Economic Forum where she was also on the Forum Managing Board.

Pamela is also a founding partner of Volans Ventures, an organisation focused on building innovative scalable solutions to challenges affecting our future.
