This program offers you a solid foundation for construction management, project management and quantity surveying.
This program prepares you for organising and managing vast numbers of people and resources across the building process to ensure safe delivery of quality buildings to clients. You may be involved in constructing high-rise office buildings and apartments, factories, hotels, houses, complex hospitals or tourist facilities. You may also refurbish and renovate buildings.

RMIT offers a variety of learning and teaching approaches including lectures, seminars, studios, workshops, presentations, group discussions and syndicate work. These are primarily in English.
You will have access to the Learning Hub and other online and digital resources through the myRMIT student portal.
Ongoing assessment throughout the semester includes examinations, essays, reports, oral classes, presentations, group projects, research projects, laboratory projects and practical assignments.
You'll be introduced to the construction and property industries, forming the framework for the following 3 years. You will understand how buildings and assets are created, appreciating each different type and how they are acquired. You will also be taught basic construction management skills.
Studying the construction process and technology in greater detail, you will learn how to plan, cost and schedule construction. Studies also include how buildings work and what is required to create sustainable structures. To help you become an industry leader you'll be given broader skills in areas like law, economics and leadership.
Explore commercial construction in greater detail and gain the skills to manage complex construction projects.
Your final year prepares you for industry with insights into the industry environment and the latest trends. The year culminates with a capstone project, enabling you to apply your skills and knowledge to a realistic simulated construction project.

We recognise the importance of students gaining hands-on experiences while studying. Therefore this program is structured to allow you to undertake part-time work in the industry while studying. This encourages you to gain first-hand industry experience and apply the theory you have learnt in the earlier years of your program.

Students can study overseas for a semester as an exchange or Study Abroad student. Past students have studied in America and Europe.
We also organise 2-week study tours to places like Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore. These tours offer you a great chance to learn about the global construction industry.
You must meet the University entry requirements for this type of program.
Current Year 12 prerequisite units 1 and 2 - two units (any combination) Mathematics (any) OR Units 3 and 4: Mathematics (any).
Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or at least 25 in any other English.
Form: Non-year 12 applicants must submit a statement as part of their direct application if they want other information to be considered. Applicants should include their reasons for wanting to study the program and details of any relevant work or other experience.

In a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) your tuition fee is shared between you and the Commonwealth Government - if you meet the eligibility criteria.
